Idly 65

What do you do with left over idlys? I either make upma or a stir fried idly. But to make my snack even more interesting I prepare idly 65.

A quick and easy chines cuisine twist to desi idly.



Serving : 1

Ingredients :
Left over idly : 4 to 5 cut into 4 pieces.
Maida : 4 tspn
Corn flour : 1 tspn
Red chilly powder : 1 tspn or as per your taste.
Salt : as per your taste.
Ginger garlic paste : 1/2 tspn
Curd : 1 tspn
Baking soda : 2 pinches.
Chines seasoning : 1/2 tspn
Green chilies : few as per your taste
Onions : 1 tspn sliced.
Soya Sauce : 1/2 tspn
Tomato sauce: 1/2 tspn
Garlic pods : 2 to 3
Coriander leaves : chopped 1 tblspn
Oil enough for deep frying.\
Water : Enough to make semi liquid batter.

Method:

  • Take a small bowl, add maida, corn flour, red chilly powder, salt, ginger garlic paste, chines seasoning, curd and baking soda.
  • Mix well and add water to make a semi liquid batter and let it sit for 10 mins.

  • Now place a frying pan and add enough oil for deep frying. Turn on the flame to medium to high.
  • Mean while, cut each idly in to 4 pieces.

  • Once oil is heated up, dip each idly piece into batter and fry them in oil.


  • Do Not Over crowd frying pan with idly pieces.

  • Once idly pieces are fried, remove it into a a place or a try or a paper napkin.

  • Now place a pan on low flame and add 1 tbspn of oil.
  • Once the oil is heated up, add green chilies, garlic pods and onions.
  • Saute it and let it fry in oil for couple of minutes

  • Add soya sauce and tomato sauce.



  • Saute well and add fried Idly.
  • Toss fried idly and make sure all fried idly is properly coated with seasoning and tampering.
  • You can add chines seasoning, in case if you havent add enough chines seasoning in maida batter.
  • You can also add bell peppers and spring onions along with onions for additional flavor.
  • But i kept it simple to finish my cooking in very less time.
