Baked edible cone.

Hey foodies!!!!!!!!!

How many of you are health conscious??? I know every one are. So am I.

Being a innovative cook, i always mix and match food.

Today I tried baking edible cone made from maida, butter and few spices. I know maida and butter has lot of gluten and not to be considered as a healthy dish, but trust me the amount of maida and butter used for one cone is less than the amount of frankie or roti or bathura.

Since it is baked, the amount of oil used is less than 2 tbspn.

So lets get started!!!

Preparation : 20 mins
Cooking : 10 mins

Ingredients :
Maida : 1/2 cup
Butter : 1 tbspn
Jeera : 1/4 tbspn
Baking soda : 1/4 tspn
Salt : As per your taste
Red Chilly powder : As per your taste.

Method :

  • In a bowl, mix maida, salt, baking powder, jeera, salt and red chilly powder,
  • Now add chilled butter and rub mix with your fingers gently.
  • You will get tender crumble texture.
  • Let it sit for a 5 mins at room temperature.
  • Now add little water and make a hard dough.
  • Place a wet kitchen towel over the dough and let it rest for 10 mins
  • Remove kitchen towel and knead by adding 1 tbspn of oil.
  • Now take a small lemon size ball of dough and roll it in to a thin roti.
  • Rub little oil on outer layer of kulfi cone or waffle cone.
  • Now take kulfi cone or waffer cone, place it at the end of the roti.
  • Gently attach end of the roti to kulfi cone and roll in to cover the cone.
  • Cut the excess roti from the cone.
  • Make sure cone is completely covered.
  • Now take a tooth pick or fork and prick roti on cone. This is avoid formation of bubble while baking.
  • Now place the cone in freezer for 10 mins.
  • Mean while pre heat the over at 180 degrees for 5 mins.
  • Take out the cone from freezer and pop it in to oven and bake it at 200 degree Celsius for 8 to 10 mins.
  • After baking, take out the cone and let it rest at room temperature. Let it cool completely.
  • Gently detach aluminum cone from maida cone with out breaking it.
  • You can use this stuff any street food.
