Ragada patties.



Ingredients for Ragada:
Dried green peas : 1 cup
Salt : As per taste
Red chilly powder : 2 tspns
Chopped onions : 1 tblpsn
Turmeric : 1/2 tspn
Chat masala : 1 tspn
Cumin powder : 1/2 tspn
Coriander seed powder : 1/4 tspn
Green Chilies : 1 tspn chopped
Coriander leaves : few chopped
Oil : 1 tblspn
Cumin seeds :1/2 tspn
Mustard seeds : 1/2 tspn

Method:
  • Soak dried green peas over night and pressure cook them.

  • Place a pan on medium flame and add oil.
  • Let it heat and add cumin seed and mustard seeds.
  • Let them splutter. Add chopped onions and saute. Let it fry until it becomes translucent.
  • Add turmeric powder and saute for 2 mins.

  • Now add cooked dried green peas. Mix it well.

  • Add salt and red chilly powder. Mix it well
  • Close the lid and let it cook for 3 to 4 mins.
  • Now add cumin seed powder, coriander seed powder and chat masala. Mix it well.

  • Add 1/2 cup of water and mix.
  • Close the lid and let it cook for about 2 mins on medium flame.

  • Turn off the flame and add chopped coriander leaves.
Ingredients for aloo patties:
Aloo : 2 medium sized boiled and smashed
Salt : As per taste
Red chilly powder : 1.5 tspn
Green chilies : 1 tspn chopped
Black salt : 1/4 tspn
Chat masala : 1/2 tspn
Coriander seed powder : 1/4 tspn
Cumin seed powder : 1/4 tspn
Chopped onions : 2 tspns
Oil : 1 tblspn

Method :
  • Take a bowl and add smashed potato.
  • Add salt, chopped green chilies, red chilly powder, chat masala, black salt, coriander seed powder, chopped onions and cumin powder. Mix well



  • Now place non stick pan on medium flame and add oil to it and let it heat.
  • Mean while, take lemon size potato mixture and gently press them in round shape. Thickness has to be 1/4 th inch.
  • Once oil is moderately hot, place potato pattie into the pan.

  • Fry it on both the sides until it turns little brown.
  • Once they are fried on both the sides, take them off the flame and place it aside.

To serve:
  • Add a ladle full off ragada in a serving bowl or plate. 
  • Add sweet chutney and coriander, mint and green chilly chutney.
  • Now add patties on to ragada. You can break patties or crush them with a fork or spoon.
  • Add sev, chopped onions and beaten curd over ragada patties.
  • Serve it hot.
