Minty spicy Aam Panna

The only reason I look forward for summer is to devour king of fruits - Mango.

Raw mango lovers cant stop drooling over aam panna.

Often people believe a myth that raw mango juice increases our body temperature but the fact is it cools down our body temperature and maintains the balance of our body heat.

So lets make age old recipe with add on flavors of mint and fresh green chilly.



Serving : 4 to 5

Ingredients :
Mango : 1 large size
Sugar : 250 gms
Water : 1/2 liter
Mint leaves : 1/2 cup
Green Chilly : 1
Cardamom powder : 1/4 tspn or more as per your taste
Ice cubes : Few

Method:

  • Soak raw mango for about 1 hour in luke warm water. This will help to remove harm full chemicals, pesticides and dust off the mango.



  • Now remove water from the bowl and add fresh drinking water until mango is completely immersed.
  • Poke mango either with knife or a fork.
  • Place the bowl on medium flame and let it cook for until mango becomes soft.

  • Now cut mango and remove seed. 
  • Make sure you get max pulp out of mango by mashing it with your palm.
  • Now pour it in to a blender and blend it.
  • Now take a steel utensil and add 200 gms of sugar and 400 ml of water.


  • Place the utensil on medium flame and let sugar completely dissolve in water.
  • Make sure you stir sugar into water while utensil is on medium flame.
  • Once sugar is dissolved completely add cardamom powder and stir.



  • Turn the flame to low and let sugar syrup boil for 5 mins
  • Mean while add mint leaves and green chilly into a small blender and blend it by adding 1 tblspn of water.
  • Add Mint and chilly mixture to sugar syrup and stir well.
  • Let it boil on low flame for 5 mins so that mint and chilly flavor incorporates with sugar syrup.

  • After 5 mins, turn off the flame and let it cool down to room temperature.
  • Now add mango pulp to this mixutre.

  • Take a ladle and mix mango juice and sugar syrup.
  • Now take sieve and a jar.
  • Place sieve on a jar and strain mango and mint mixture through the sieve into the jar.

  • Place the jar in fridge for couple of hours and serve them chilled with ice cubes.
