Green Tea Soda

I am vexed up with the taste of Green Tea. Being a weight neither I can add more sugar or more honey to sweeten it up a bit.

How much ever I try to modify green tea recipe I end up bitter taste on my tongue. So came up with the Idea of Green tea soda.

My first attempt is successful. :)

Ingredients :
Green Tea leaves : 1 tspn
Beetle Nuts : 1/4 tspn
Jeera : 1/2 tspn
Misri : 1 to 2 tspn as per your taste.
Soda water : 250 ml
Drinking water : 200 ml
Saunf / fennel powder : 1/4 tspn

Method :

  1. In 100 ml hot water, put green tea leaves and let it rest for 10 to 20 mins or until green tea leaves infuses the aroma, color and taste to water.
  2. Now take separate bowl, add 100 ml water, add beetle nuts, jeera, misri and saunf powder and bring it to boil. Beetle nuts will change the color of water to pink.
  3. Once water is roaring boil, turn off the flame and let it cool to room temperature.
  4. Put green tea and beetle nut water in refrigerator to cool them for 10 to 15 mins.
  5. Once its is cooled down, take a glass, fill half of the glass with both beetle nut infused water and green tea. Ratio should be 1:1, it means one part of beetle nut water and one part of green tea.
  6. Once your glass is half filled with green tea and beetle nut water pour in soda water.
  7. You can serve it with dash of lime.
  8. If you want only green tea with out beetle nut infused water, then you can fill half glass with green tea and add soda water to it.
  9. I tried both.
