Veg Dalcha
Ingredients:
Soya balls: 1 cup
Chana dal : Soaked ½ cup
Potatoes : 1 medium sized diced
Tomatoes : 2 to 3
chopped
Cauliflower : ¼ cup florets
French beans : ¼
cup diagonally chopped
Capsicum : ¼ cup chopped
Tamarind pulp : 1.5 tspn
Ghee : 1 tblspn
Cumin seeds : 1 tspn
Mustard seeds : ½ tspn
Cardamom : 2
Cinnamon / Dalchini : ½ inch
Clove / Laung : 1 or 2
Bay leaf : 1
Garam Masala : ½ tspn
Coriander powder : ½ tspn
Cumin powder : ½ tspn
Roasted Cashwes : Few
Curry leaves : Few
Mint leaves : Few chopped
Onions : ¼ cup chopped
Turmeric : ¼th tspn
Green chillies : 2 slit
Water : 200 ml
Method :

Soak soya for 5 mins in warm water.

Pressure cook chana dal with little salt and
turmeric.
· Place a kadai or cooker on medium flame, add ghee. Add whole masala and green chilies.
·
Saute and let them fry for two mins.
·
Add onions
and sauté. Let them cook until they turn translucent.
·
Now add turmeric powder and ginger garlic paste
and mix.
· Add veggies and salt, sauté them.
·
Now reduce the flame, close the lid and let them
cook for 4 mins.
·
Veggies will start to leave water they contain.
· Open the lid, if all veggies are partially cooked, add
soya and mix well.
· Add tomatoes and saute. Close the lid and let tomatoes cook until they turn soft. Add little water and cook for 2 to 3 mins.
- Add Red chilly powder, garam masala powder, coriander seed powder and cumin powder.

Let it cook for 3 mins on low flame and then add tamarind pulp.
· Now add cooked chana dal.
· Let it cook on low flame for 5 to 6 mins. You can add little water if dalcha is too thick in consistancy.

Serve it hot with any roti or chapati or pulka
or puri.
