Apple Fritters - Eggless

An apple a day keeps doctor away. But what do you do when your fruit basket is filled with more than enough apples.

A crispy and crunchy apple fritters will just do the favor.

All you need is

Ingredients :

Apples : 2 to 3
Maida : Half cup
Corn flour : 1 tspn
Milk : 1/3 cup
Vanilla essense : 1/4 tspn
Powdered sugar : 3 tbspn
Water : Enough to make batter.

Method :

  • Wash apples thoroughly and peel them.
  • Cut apples in round shape or in wedges are into any desired shape.

  • Now remove the seeds and cut the center part of each slice.

  • Sprinkle some lemon juice on apples and set them in fridge for 5 mins. This will make our apple fritters come out crunchier.
  • Mean while, take a bowl, place a sieve over the bowl and add maida into it.

  • Now add 1/4 tspn of baking powder into the maida and sieve it together.

  • Add 1/3rd cup of milk and add enough water to make not so thick and not so thin batter.
  • I like my fritters to be crunchy and softy, so i prepared batter little thin but not liquid consistency.
  • If you want your apple fritters to be stiff and crispy add less water and prepare a thick batter.

  • Now add vanilla essence and mix well.

  • Add powdered sugar and corn flour and mix well to break lumps.

  • Set it aside for couple of mins.
  • Meanwhile place a frying pan on medium flame.
  • Add oil and let it heat up to less than smoking point.
  • Pour a small drop of batter into pan. If the drop floats back on top of the oil, then oil is ready to deep fry apple fritters.
  • Take out apples from the fridge, dip each apple slice and drop them carefully into oil.

  • Fry evenly on both the sides until golden brown.

  • Fry all sliced apples and transfer it into a plate covered with tissue paper.
  • Slightly press it with tissue paper so that excess oil will be observed by tissue paper.
  • Now transfer it into a serving plate.
  • Decorate it with edible sprinklers and chocolate sprinklers.
  • Taste best with ice cream.
