Paapdi variations

A platter full of varied paapdi which satisfies your traditional appetite and Italian appetite.

Quick and easy recipe to kick out boring snack.

Ingredients:

Paapdi or puris : Few
Sliced or diced Onions : 1/2 tbspn
Pizza Sauce: 1 to 2 tblspn.
Processed cheese : 1/2 Tspn
Cream cheese : 1 to 2 tspn
Mayonnaise : 1 to 2 tspn
Aloo bhujia : 1/4th cup
Coriander and mint chutney : 1 tspn
Dry Ginger and dates chutney or any Sweet chutney : 1/2 tspn
Potato : 1 medium sized boiled
Greenpease : 1/4th cup boiled
Red chilly powder : 1/2 tspn
Salt : as per your taste
Chat masala : As per your taste
Black salt : As per your taste.
Lemon wedge
Chopped Coriander : 1/4th cup
Sweet Curd or normal curd : 1 to 2 tspn (Optional)
Italian Seasoning : As per your taste.

Method:

Traditional paapdi :

  • In a bowl, mash boiled aloo, boiled green peas, add salt, chilly powder, chat masala, and black salt, few drops of lemon juice as per your taste.
  • Now place paapdi in a plate. On one paapdi smear mint chutney, top it up with potato mixture. 
  • Now add dates and dry ginger chutney and curd on potato mixture. Sprinkle some chat masala and aloo bhujia over it. 
  • Top up it with chopped onions and coriander leaves.
Indo Italian: 
  • Place a paapdi on a plat, smear mayonnaise on half of the paapdi and sweet chutney on other half of the chuney.
  • Top it up with aloo mixture, onions and aloo bhujia.
  • Sprinkle some Italian seasoning and chaat masala.
Pure Italian twist:
  • Place a paapdi on a plate. now smear mayonnaise on half of the paapdi and ketchup on pizza sause on other half of of paapdi.
  • Now add process cheese, creame cheese and onions over it.
  • You can add other sauted veggies likes sweet corn, capsicum, mushrooms. I kept it simple with out much fuzz in arranging paapdi.
  • Bake this paapdi for 30 to 40 secs at 200 degree Celsius. (Optional)
  • Sprinkle some Italian seasoning over it and serve.
